Pigeons are city pest birds easily recognizable by their greyish body with a slightly more colorful neck. These flying parasites make their home on the roofs of buildings, patios, in holes or crevices, and can carry diseases such as cryptococcosis and histoplasmosis. Pigeons are infamous for their frequent and highly visible droppings that also damage iron and stone structures. They feed mainly on crumbs pecked in town, cultivated seeds and sometimes molluscs.
